The village Širkovce is located at the bank of the river Rimava in the district of Rimavská Sobota, with number of inhabitants 899 it is a middle-size municipality. A cultural landmark represents the Reformatted church from 1718. It was reconstructed in 2006. Manor with curia of the Fáy and Gömöry families is surrounding with a park, which serves at present to the organizing of culture and sport events.
