Village situated on the Silica Plain, not far from border with Hungarian Republic.
The fi rst written mention of the village of Kečovo dates back to 1272, when it was called Kucheu. A few peasant houses from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century have been preserved in the village. In the village there is a Classicist evangelical church built in 1817-1820. The church has an emporium and a classicist altar from the first half of the 19th century. Roman Catholic Church of the Ascension of the Lord from 1827. Not far from the village there is the Domica Cave, open to the public, which has been included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List since 1995. Events such as Children’s Day, Village Day, Grulyafésztivál are held every year in the village.
