Turčianske Teplice – a Heart of Turiec Region
Turčianske Teplice is the oldest thermal spa in Slovakia and Europe. The city is due to bath, climate and resources of the surrounding countryside an ideal place for relaxing, recreation, regeneration and sport activities. Contributing to this are also annually recurring events like the Run for Health, City Days and Harvest Festival. There is one of the oldest and most extensive spa parks in Slovakia, where many exotic woody species are growing. The cultural monuments include the birthplace of artist Mikuláš Galanda, which is a gallery with a permanent exhibition of his works as well as other contemporary artists.
