In 2025, the village commemorates the 780th anniversary of the first written mention from June 1245 in the Donation Deed of King Belo IV.
Right in the village there is the originally Gothic Church of St. James and the Baroque Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows. The attraction for visitors is the well-known recreation resort of Duchonka. There is also an interesting hunting lodge from 1931 built in the style of German hunting lodges. The ruins of the medieval Topoľčiansky castle from the 13th century are also located seven kilometers from Prašíce. The recreation resort Duchonka is built along the reservoir of the same name. It is probably the most beautiful recreation center in Slovakia with the largest pine-birch grove, which also houses the largest autocamping ATC Nová Duchonka. In the past, it won many awards, and in recent years it has once again become known to visitors from all over Slovakia and abroad, especially among fans of camping and car camping. From Duchonka, the Duchonka – Kulháň forest educational trail leads, as well as several interesting tourist cycling routes.
